5ML: MIMETICS

5ml Design Collective is a UK partnership between Ilsa Parry, Michael Cloke and Tom Sutton. The brand is a design led organisation on a mission to assist independent British and international concept led creatives and design led craftspersons gain access to affordable opportunities to find new markets for their inventive products. At Liverpool Design Show 2011 they are presenting ‘Pixel Texel Luxel Voxel’ a collection of designers zooming in on pattern, light, texture and volume with examples of lighting, furnishings, homewares, and lifestyle accessories using a mix of traditional and digital techniques.

Richard Brown set up mimelight.com and registered mimelight Ltd. as a vehicle for focusing on designing and producing interactive LED lighting products. His work is very much a crossover between art, science and invention inspired by building a computer at the age of 12 and making fireworks at 14. His educational experience continues this theme with a BSc in Computers and Cybernetics and an MA in Fine Art.
