DESIGN TALKS AT DESIGN SHOW - SATURDAY

Design Show presents a series of challenging talks, FREE to Design Show visitors:

Saturday 8th October at 2pm  - “The Democracy of Design” – 5ml

llsa Parry and Mike Cloke (of the BBC’s 'Design For Life' series) and their 5ml partner Tom Sutton will discuss what can be judged as democratic design, both historically and in a contemporary practice.

Looking at ecological design, emotive design, design for inclusion and design for communication, this talk will examine the impact that each approach to design can have on the lives of the consumers who purchase the products.

5ml believe in making thoughtful design affordable, easy to purchase and understandable in its function and lasting emotive value.

The speakers will invite the audience to consider how the consumer can actually become the designer making the process truly democratic.  Audience participation is welcomed!
